Rid-All Green Partnership: Transforming Urban Farming
Overview
The Rid-All Green Partnership is a pioneering organization that has revitalized a once vacant and neglected piece of land in Cleveland’s Kinsman Neighborhood. Their overarching mission is to supply healthy, locally-sourced food to both institutions and individual citizens. Additionally, they offer comprehensive training in the field of urban farming.
Infrastructure
- Two Greenhouses: For controlled environment agriculture.
- Four Hoop Houses: For season extension and crop protection.
- 40,000 Square Feet Aquaponics Fishery: A sustainable system that combines conventional aquaculture with hydroponics.
Educational Focus
One of their greenhouses serves a dual purpose as a classroom setting, specializing in aqua farming. At present, they are cultivating “black tilapia” fish. Future plans include the introduction of additional fish species such as perch, blue gill, and bass.
