She began by prioritizing precious time with her family and dedicating moments to renew her own well-being, then structured her work schedule around these vital commitments. Gradually, she transitioned from a stressful six-day workweek to a far more productive four-day week. This shift allowed her the essential rest, deep rejuvenation, and meaningful family interaction she deeply desired.

It is time to shed the common mindset that success must be born from sacrificing your peace of mind, enduring stressful work schedules, missing quality time with your family, or compromising your health. This limiting belief can absolutely be adjusted and transformed. Today, our colleague flourishes; she is healthier, more productive, and deeply fulfilled by the rich family time she enjoys. She describes her journey as moving from a wilted flower to one in full bloom, affirming that the consistent time she dedicates to rejuvenation actually enhances her productivity.

Recent research published in Business Insider beautifully supports her realization. A New Zealand-based nonprofit released data from 33 participating companies across various countries, involving 969 employees who adopted a four-day work week in a six-month pilot programme. The study found that this shortened workweek was “a resounding success on virtually every dimension.”

“Over the trial period, revenue among the participating companies rose 8.14%, and when compared to the same time period last year, revenue jumped 37.55%. And on the employee side, the findings were significant — 67% of employees reported being less burned out, the extra day without work allowed exercise to increase by about 23 minutes per week, and sleep problems decreased by 8%. Additionally, even with less time each week to complete work, the respondents in the survey did not see a significant increase in their workload.” (1)

This sacred day allows our bodies and minds to fully rest and rejuvenate, preventing the kind of continual strain that can lead to eventual breakdown. - Uplifting Music: We create and listen to music that is uplifting and inspiring. Music has a profound way of entering the soul, positively affecting our minds and spirits. We seek out sounds and lyrics that elevate our mood, motivate us towards goodness, and foster feelings of love and unity within our community. - Holy Concern Movement: At least three days a week, we dedicate time to “Holy Concern,” which involves various forms of movement and exercise. Physical activity calms the body, increases oxygen flow, and rejuvenates our circulatory and respiratory systems, contributing to overall vitality. - Connecting with Nature: Each day, we make it a point to spend time outdoors, immersing ourselves in nature. We feel the air, wind, and sun, and appreciate the beauty of the blue sky, abundant flowers, trees, and birds. This connection to the natural world reminds us of our place in creation and provides a powerful source of energy and serenity. - Regular Massage Therapy: Each month, many of us receive at least one massage. Several skilled members of our community are certified massage therapists, dedicated to servicing the well-being needs of others. Massage offers numerous benefits, including stress reduction, improved circulation, relaxed muscles, and proper drainage of the lymphatic system. - Joyful Socialization: We cherish opportunities to socialize within the village, finding immense joy in spending time together. Whether talking, laughing, dancing, or even farming side-by-side, these shared experiences are mutually beneficial and deeply healing for our spirits.
